PE & R-PE

There are low density polyethylene (LDPE), Medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) or high density polyethylene (HDPE). These types have different properties and specific applications. Of the state of granules, they are transformed into finished products of various techniques.

Properties

Each polymer has characteristic properties. Those of the EP are mainly:

  • Resistance to shocks, water, UV
  • Thermal and mechanical resistance
  • Impermeability to fuels
  • The ease of molding
  • Chemical inertness

Processing technology

  • Extrusion blow molding,
  • Injection blow molding,
  • Injection.

All means to achieve a given type of parts.

Applications:

Three types of PE: PEHB, LDPE and PE medium density which is a compromise of the first two and allows to give flexibility to packaging while maintaining some resistance.

PE are not gastight.

Recycling :

PE is 100% recyclable and can therefore be recycled to produce new packaging, which means less impact on natural resources and helps reduce CO2 emissions by up to 110%.
However, the characteristics of R-PE are different from those of virgin PE. Indeed, it will have a rigidity similar to HDPE and will have a color varying from gray to black.
To simply identify all its plant-based plastic packaging and other materials with a reduced carbon impact, CVP uses the name: « SO GREEN by CVP ».
