As for all thermoplastics, PET is transformed from the state of granules into finished products by different methods:
Properties:
Thanks to this assembly of 2 different molecules, PET has specific characteristics:
- Transparency,
- Brightness,
- Resistance to shocks, pressure, gases, traction.
Transformation technologies:
- Injection blowmolding, hot or cold cycle,
- Extrusion,
- Thermoforming.
Each method makes it possible to manufacture a certain type of product.
Applications:
The intrinsic properties of PET make it an ideal material for the production of soft drink bottles.
Recycling and RPET:
PET is 100% recyclable and can therefore be recycled to produce bottles containing 25%, 50% or 100% recycled PET (RPET). Which means less impact on natural resources and helps reduce CO2 emissions by up to 110%.
However, CVP voluntarily limits the amount of RPET in its packaging to a maximum of 50%. This restriction allows us to be able to recycle our packaging without any limit in terms of cycle.
Beyond 50%, the mechanical qualities and the resistances are altered and limits the number of recycling to 8.
To simply identify all its plant-based plastic packaging and other materials with a reduced carbon impact, CVP uses the name: « SO GREEN by CVP ».
